Flubit.com’s first Christmas as a fully-fledged online marketplace completely blew away expectations, with orders in the fourth quarter of 2017 increasing by 150 percent on the previous quarter and by more than 600 percent on the same period in 2016.
This incredible “hockey stick growth” not only demonstrates how Flubit’s decision to move away from its original demand-driven marketplace model in April 2017 is working for the company, but also provides an incredible up-lift for the 2,000+ stated sellers registered with SKU Cloud (the technology platform which powers Flubit.com and wider SKU Cloud eCommerce ecosystem).
But the news gets better…
Retailers would of course expect to see a significant uptick in sales in Q4 – but 2018 is already off to a great start with January 2018 on track to break records.
Speaking about the online marketplace’s phenomenal growth, Bertie Stephens, CEO and co-founder of Flubit/SKU Cloud, said: “Ten days into January we’re on-track to match our Christmas numbers, which is both surprising and very pleasing for us and our sellers. We continue to invest into the marketplace’s growth and the great relationships we have with our sellers is what makes this journey so enjoyable”.
Retailers seeing the most success on Flubit.com/SKU Cloud include the following categories:
- Toys and Games – 20.19%
- Home and Garden – 19.43%
- Books – 17.66%
- Health and Beauty – 11.18%
- Electronics – 10.46%
Growth on the online marketplace is being matched with continued investment into third-party software integrations which make it easier for retailers to easily list and manage their inventory on Flubit.com, the wider SKU Cloud ecosystem, eBay and Amazon, as well as their own eCommerce stores.
In addition to their own API and file/feed solutions these include: Volo Commerce, Linnworks (including: FTP/API & .NET), Channel Advisor, Store Feeder, Seller Dynamics, Selro, eReprice and Seller Express.
